Our Distinguished Weekly Panel (and some fun facts about them)

This week our distinguished comedy vet is Matt Fisher

Matt Fisher is a writer and performer in New York City and a member of the The Law Firm, Tremendous Machine, and Diamonds Wow!. He began improvising at the tender age of fourteen and subsequently performed in all of the white-hot comedy meccas of New England: Providence, RI, Springfield, MA, Watertown, CT, and coastal Maine. After five years with his Boston group, Improv Foundry, he lit out for the UCBT and New York City, where he’s performed in many high-quality shows, including Waiting For Obama and ESPN’s The Pretty Good Sports Show. In addition to being funnier than average, shows featuring Matt Fisher tend to be a very good value relative to their cost.

He proudly resides in Brooklyn with his wife Dana.

Our hilarious indie darling this week is That Annoying Couple

Shannon Coffey was born in New York. At age five her family moved to Puerto Rico where she spent thirteen years trying to explain what freckles were. In 2003 she moved back to New York and began studying improvisation at UCB in 2006. Since then she’s had the pleasure of studying under Shannon O’Neill, Chris Gethard, Curtis Gwinn, Anthony King, Joe Wengert, Zach Woods, Christina Gausas, Erik Tanouye, Porter Mason and Doug Moe.

Shannon has performed at UCB with ImproVerite: The Documentary, Hell City Bus, Black Habanero, A Bit XXcessive and first generation Maude team Gunderson. Outside of UCB, Shannon was a regular on GamePlay HD’s sketch comedy series Senor Nugget and has appeared on various commercials.

Shannon is insanely proud to be a member of UCB Harold team Robber Baron and she performs all over Brooklyn in her two person team That Annoying Couple!

Rob is an actor/improvisor/comedian in New York City. He’s been taking improv classes at UCB since the beginning of 2007, studying under numerous talented teachers/performers. Rob currently does improv with teams like That Annoying Couple, Old Maid, and SLUG. He was part of the cast/writing team of the short lived sketch comedy series Senior Nugget, which aired on Gameplay HD in 2008. If he looks familiar to you it’s because of the short fame he received from the catchy and colorful Halls campaign ads seen in subways not long ago. Recently he has been performing standup and hosting a variety show in Brooklyn. He is creator of the unreleased web series I HATE BEING SINGLE and now Rob is ecstatic to be a performer on the maude team Onassis.
