Indie Cage Match round 6: 7:30 PM, Sunday, December 11th - UCB East
Hey, have you ever been to that Mannequin Room, on the North Coast, when you’re eating an Egg MacGuffin? Yeah, me neither, but this Sunday seems like a good time. Guys, Indie Cage Match UCB East is back, again, to explode your minds with comedy. In UCB East Indie Cage Match’s exciting sixth show, three stupefyingly funny indie improv teams are going to battle for domination of the UCB East Stage. This Sunday, December 11th, 7:30 PM at UCB East, the Beast.
The rap-acious North Coast is back to defend their title against two some literary concepts, and some inanimate objects?
Our Distinguished Weekly Panel (and some fun facts about them)
This week our distinguished comedy vet is the macroscene-inventingest panelist we’ve had yet: Kevin Hines

Kevin Hines can be seen performing with The Curfew every Saturday night. He also teaches a lot of classes at the theater, has written some videos for UCBComedy.com, and on occasion performs with his brother as The Brothers Hines. When not doing those things he can probably be found napping next to his cat.
Our hilarious indie darling this week is the ultra-funny Marshall Stratton

Marshall is a New York based actor, comedian, and writer. He has been featured on Comedy Central on the show Atom TV. He was recently cast in the long-running Off-Broadway show The Awesome 80’s Prom. He has performed in the sketch show 8 Bits for the Hollywood Fringe Festival at I.O. West Mainstage. He has been featured in web videos for Michael Showalter Productions, UCBcomedy.com, Babelgum.com and Atom.com. Marshall started taking classes and performing improv in November of 2008 at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He has taken classes under the tutelage of Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, Zach Woods, Billy Merritt, Michael Delaney, Rebecca Drysdale and many more. His teams have performed at UCBW Cage Match, UCB Advanced Study Performance (formerly 600) team Vantage Point which had an amazing four week run at the theatre. He’s improvised at the NC Comedy Arts Festival, The PIT, The Baltimore Improv Festival, ImprovBoston, Up The Creek Improv Festival in NYC. He currently resides in the East Village.
Our incredible indie teams (and some fun facts about them)

These guys are funny. The Mannequin Room’s members can be seen slicing and dicing up the stage in 500 and 600 level classes at UCB, and in Mannequin Room’s entertaining monthly show. It also includes one former Indie Darling, and one former guest Assistant.
What does The Mannequin Room have to say for themselves?
“We’re ready to amuse you”
The Mannequin Room is Lou Gonzalez, Chrissie Gruebel, Caroline Sweet, Brian Urreta, and Megan Venzin.

Our returning champion! North Coast is a crazy, fast, hilarious freestyle rap improv group. They’re really good at rhyming things.
What they say about themselves:
“Now that the east coast - west coast beef has subsided, North Coast! is stepping up to throw down. Watch as New York’s premier freestyle rapping, beatboxing, long-form improv team performs a fully improvised “hip-hopera” right in front of yo mouf. You bring your favorite rap lyric and North Coast! will make your gut bust and your head bop. And if you don’t know, now you know.”
North Coast is Oscar Montoya, Julia Morales, Doug Widick, Rachel Rosenthal, Shaun Fisher, Boris Khaykin, James Robilotta, Jonathan DeMuth

MacGuffin is a group of funny people.
MacGuffin says:
“Macguffin is a fast-paced, high energy, insane, shocking, and wildy entertaining long-form improv comedy show in New York City.
True to its name, Macguffin, a term used to describe an event, character or object that motivates the scene forward but isn’t what the scene is about, is one step ahead of the audience’s expectations.
Together since the FALL OF 2008, Macguffin members have studied with New York’s most notable improv theatres including The Upright Citizens Brigade, Gotham City Improv, The National Comedy Theater, and The People’s Improv Theatre. They have performed in the Del Close Marathon and the 2010 Chicago Improv Festival. ”
MacGuffin is Nash Bennett, Nick Carrillo, Josh Hurley, Tracy Mull, Rebecca Vigil
As per usual our hosts, Amey and Ryan, will be on hand…doing hosting things.

Official Indie Cage Match NYC assistants Justin Byrne and Evan Boshi will be on hand, once again, for the fetching of water, making of photographs, taking of notes, and asking of trivia questions.
